The Landscape Changes
The Landscape ChangesAs you cross the sea and head towards Denmark, the landscape changes. Lush greenery gives way to huge meadows of hay, strewn randomly with tiny villages or an odd house in the between. The color of the sky, meadows and the houses mixing together to form a painting which you desperately wish to be a part of.

Wallpaper Europe does something to you, something magical. Or may be it's just travel. It is the joy of stepping into the unknown, exploring the world which you have never seen before. It's like falling in love, everything you see, even the simplest of landscape seems wonderful and brightens up your day. Imagine what happens when you see so many of them in a single day.
Fields of gold
Fields of goldIt was the first time that I was seeing something like this. Hay rolled in huge rolls and many of these rolls lying across the meadows. The setting Sun shone down on them and lighting them up. It felt as if a bunch of gold coins fell from someone's purse rolled on the ground and came to rest at random places on the ground, turning everything around them to a vivid shade of gold. A treasure lying by the side of the road.

The Royal PalaceThe boat tour of Copenhagen takes you to most of the sites around the city. The tour offers a view of the city from a different perspective, giving you a chance to see some of the buildings in completely different light. Seen here is the Royal Palace. A beautiful building standing tall just by one of the docks
The Canals of Copenhagen
The Canals of CopenhagenAlthough Amsterdam is more famous for it's canals, Copenhagen too has it's own share of canals. The difference here is in the boats anchored on the side. Most of these are private boats and with tall masts. A sight not so often seen in Amsterdam

Mechanical landscapeThe city of Copenhagen is a mix of old town and new town. It is one of the few cities which retains it's old world charm inspite of the various new buildings cropping up on the shoreline. The overall city itself exudes such a positive vibe that you can't just help being happy around here! Even the cranes on the shoreline form an interesting frame

NyhavnBored of walking around, or even cruising around the canal? Want to sit and do nothing? Or wanna grab a drink while you listen to various artists playing all kinds of instruments, right from a cello to a saxophone or just bask in the Sun waiting for your next ride? This is the place to be.  Nyhavn, once the new port and trading center of Copenhagen now is lined with old buildings converted into hotels and restaurants and sidewalks with numerous cafes. The perfect place to spend an evening, or the afternoon, alone or with someone!!
The Bridge with a view
The Bridge with a viewThere are 5 lakes in Copenhagen, all in a line almost in the heart of the city. Each lake has it's own side walk and park on the side and some of them have a bridge dividing them into two. A single road / track runs around all 5 of them, which is always busy with cyclists or runners doing their daily round of exercise. Come evening and majority of the crowd in the city - whether you are a teenager or a businessman, whether you are in torn jeans or a business suit, will gather on these bridges around the lakes, grab a bottle of beer and spend the evening sitting on the pavement and enjoying with friends! Now that's happiness
Farvel Copenhagen
Farvel CopenhagenEven the airport at Copenhagen tempts you to stay back. As I walked to the terminal from the train station, the setting Sun lighted up the road below and the sign of the airport. A sight so mesmerizing that for a few moments i just left my baggage, stood there soaking in the beauty. Farvel Copenhagen, for now, I will definitely come back again
