The First View
The First ViewAn early morning start to the 11 km climb - In less than a 200 mts you have climbed up from the parking lot which is near the lake that you see below.
The Intermediate Plateau
The Intermediate PlateauSlowly the lake also disappears form sight and you start leveling up with the mountain tops from the ranges around
Norwegian Mountainside
Norwegian Mountainside2 km into the hike and you encounter a plain - a mix of the typical Norwegian squidgy grass, small streams, a few trees and snow covered mountains everywhere around.
The Climb continues
The Climb continuesThe climb ahead is gradual atleast for a bit...and the color combinations early morning are mesmerizing
The Second Steep climb
The Second Steep climbAnd there begins the second leg of the climb - the 4th km is through these rocks and plain big rock faces, although nothing dangerous as such but on the way down these are the patches that will kill your feet
The Mirage
The MirageA lake formed by melting snow - from here on it looks as if its gonna be a cake walk, after all there is nothing higher than this... but you are wrong... its just 4 km in the trek and there are 7 more to go
The Vivid Terrain
The Vivid TerrainThe terrain keeps changing rapidly, with pools of fresh potable water visible everywhere. The path is clearly marked and the sun creates beautiful contrasts of green blue and grey
The Panorama
The Panorama... one turn and then you see the lake that has been formed due to the dam built near the parking lot. ... the mountains in front and the pure blue lake below... cries for a panorama shot... and as usual I end up messing it a bit... specially by taking it with a wide angle lens. But this time atleast i can save some of itsmile emoticon
On The Trolltunga
On The TrolltungaA few more Kms of up and downs later... Yours Truly on the troll's tongueTrolltunga captured - and a generous Norwegian scuba diver agrees to click a picture for me
Peeping Over the Edge
Peeping Over the EdgePeeping over the ledge.. I never thought I would do this.... specially knowing my fear of heights.. but then ... Curiosity conquers me...

The View from the Edge of the Trolltunga
The View from the Edge of the TrolltungaI go down a second time and this time i take a shot over the ledge to capture the vista below
The Clear Norwegian Waters
The Clear Norwegian WatersThe famous Norwegian blue waters - You just cant beat this... the land below is visible even from this height and the point where it stops.. assume that its a drop dead fall below
Reflections
ReflectionsA reflection captured on the way back... walking barefeet through these forest patches was the best part of the experience. I now know why the trolls roamed around barefeet.. there could be nothing better than that
The Bridge Between the Two Tunnels
The Bridge Between the Two TunnelsOn the way back... stopped to capture the bridge between the two tunnels ... an amazing sight and specially after a tiring and satisfying day in the mountains.
Saying Good Bye to the Wilderness
